Nicola Heaney’s poetry displays a marked fidelity to an Irish ‘sound’, while simultaneously striking chords of European post-modernity. This synthesis is exciting and entirely her own.”
Tim Liardet, Poet and Professor of Poetry, Bath Spa University
Heaney’s poetry is rooted in geography and explores the ‘thin’ spaces that threshold time and place. She is currently working on her first collection. Her work has appeared in a number of journals across the UK and Ireland, including The North, Crannóg and Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal. Her poetry has also been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize (2019 and 2020) and the Bangor Poetry Competition (2020).
